A bigger question is which ones have the biggest impact on you and why?


For the last few months, one of my recreational reads has been Truman , by David McCullough. All 996 pages. Now, biographies can be laborious, but this one captures the detailed essence of one of the men to make multiple landmark decisions that changed the face of the planet forever.

Meditation and Holidays Within

Most of us take time off to journey to new places within our own country or to travel to different countries.


We do this to take some time off the treadmill and to rest and rejuvenate so that we can return refreshed to our daily routine.


Sometimes going on holiday can be even more stressful than daily life. Flight delays, dodgy hotel accommodation, lost luggage and other obstacles can conspire to ruin our plans for restful recreation.


But most of the time, it can be a liberating experience to take time out of our daily cycle to explore other places. In fact, two of the older meanings of the word ‘vacation’ are ‘freedom’ and ‘release’.

How Will You Make a Difference in 2007?

Perhaps the greater question is, why are you here? The philosophical issue of man s existence on this planet comes to mind. We are here for a reason. Think about it. You apparently have one crack at life and a chance to do something memorable. That is, unless you think that watching television eight hours a days is more important than making a contribution to humanity. Because I am somewhat psychic, I already hear you whining that you are too poor, too stupid or some other lame excuse to really make a difference. Fine, let s consider what I m actually asking you to do.

Regular Activity is Important in Controlling High Blood Pressure

Regular exercise can help prevent high blood pressure, and if your blood pressure is already high, exercise can help you control it.
You can strengthen your heart with regular physical activity. The less your heart needs to work, the less force or pressure is exerted on your arteries. For some people exercise alone can reduce the need for blood pressure medication.


If your blood pressure is already at a desirable level, exercise can keep it from rising as you age. Another important key in controlling blood pressure is a healthy weight. Exercise can also help you maintain a healthy weight.

Research continues to emerge about exercise and fitness. Over the years many of the machines and exercises advertised as abdominal miracle flattener or magical thigh reducer has actually turned out to be wrong or misleading. Other ideas about cardio fat burning and the best time of day to work out are also misleading. Scientific research continues to tell us exercise alone will not reduce or enlarge the size any certain body part.
